Walter Fabius Maximus Moring
Walter Fabius Maximus Moring was born in 1842 at Dennisville in Amelia County. He was the son of William Wyatt Moring, and grandson of Caswell and Emily Moring.
He served in "H" Company of the 44th Virginia Infantry of Amelia County, Virginia.
Throughout the war, he kept an in-depth journal of his daily activities and experiences that gives us an incredible view of the life of a Confederate soldier.
After the war, he became a successful lumber and coal merchant between Baltimore and Chicago. He died at a relatively young age, in his forties, and is buried in Chicago, Illinois.
