Alpheus Beverly R. Moring

Alpheus Beverly R. Moring was one of the thousands of unfortunate souls that lost his life in the Civil War, not to wounds from the battle field, but to the scourge of disease.
He was a conscript late in the war to the 18th Virginia Infantry, Company C. By this time, he was already in his mid-forties with a wife and adult children.
Sadly, after less than one month of service, he began suffering from dysentery and died after a very short bout with the illness.
His burial place is unknown, but one would assume it is at the old home in Prince Edward County.
